As a Product Safety Inspector ARD – specializing in Electrical & Ride Control Systems, you will carry out periodic inspections, new-build inspections and type examinations on a wide variety of amusement rides: from electric trains and dark-ride systems to the most advanced high-tech roller coasters.
You assess whether installations and control systems still comply with the manufacturer’s specifications as well as current standards and guidelines. You also determine whether changes caused by wear, load, or maintenance remain acceptable within the technical safety limits. Any deviations are reported clearly and professionally to our clients. In addition, you play an active role in improving internal work processes, helping us elevate our services to an even higher level.
Work in accordance with established methods, procedures, and applicable standards;
Assess installations based on standards, specifications, checklists, and inspection schemes;
Perform type and design assessments, including in-depth examinations of first-of-type units;
Verify and assess structural and electrical engineering calculations;
Conduct complete file reviews according to relevant reference standards and/or guidelines, including the evaluation of risk assessments;
Assess manufacturers’ internal quality control schemes and the effectiveness of their measures;
Conduct technical reviews and prepare substantiated certification recommendations for the certification decision-maker;
Participate in or lead internal improvement projects related to workflows, processes and systems.
As an Electrical (E) specialist, you are also the key technical contact for all electrical and control-system aspects of amusement rides:
Inspect and assess electrical installations of amusement devices according to relevant standards (e.g. EN 13814, EN 60204-1, EN-IEC 62061, EN ISO 13849);
Assess PLC and safety control systems, including emergency stop circuits, redundancy, fault detection and functional safety (SIL/PL);
Inspect cabling, distribution systems, drive systems, sensor systems, block systems and braking systems;
Evaluate whether electrical and electronic modifications demonstrably remain within safety limits;
Perform measurements, functional tests and verifications of (safety) software;
Contribute to developing and securing electrical engineering expertise within the team.
International travel is an integral part of the role, worldwide, usually on a monthly basis. Occasional weekend work may be required and is additionally compensated. Working at height is a standard part of the job, both indoors and outdoors.
MBO-4, HBO or Bachelor/Master degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Control Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering with strong electrical affinity;
In-depth knowledge of relevant standards, legislation and regulations in the field (such as EN 13814, EN 60204-1, EN-IEC 62061, EN ISO 13849, ASTM standards);
At least 3 years of experience as a (senior) technician, inspector, engineer or service technician in electrical installations, control systems or machinery safety;
Accuracy, strong safety awareness and excellent verbal and written communication skills;
A Category B driving license, as work is carried out at various locations throughout the Netherlands;
As the role often involves working at height, it is essential that you do not suffer from fear of heights;
Good command of the English language; knowledge of Dutch, German or French is an advantage;
Residence in the Netherlands, Belgium or France;
No restrictions preventing the issuance of a Certificate of Conduct (VOG).
